FLUORIDE
THE BREAKDOWN Although not considered to be an IMPORTANT nutrient for the body, because of its ability to strengthen teeth and bones, it is accepted as a vital mineral for proper health.

IN THE BODY
If there is too much Fluoride in the body, it is quickly disposed over in urine.

WITHDRAWALS
Lack of Fluoride can lead to the erosion of the teeth.

NATURAL FORMS
Natural forms of Fluoride can be found in cereals, fruit, meat, water and tea.

DAILY DOSE
  • Women 3.8 mg
  • Men 3.1 mg
  • Children (6-12 months) 0.5mg, (4-12 years) 1.1 mg (9-13) 2 mg

OVER DOSAGE
Dermatitis, rotting teeth and problems with bone growth can occur with an excess intake of Fluoride.

SUPPLEMENTS
Treating problems with the teeth are the primary uses of Fluoride. If there is no Fluoride in the water you are drinking, supplements can be helpful in this situation, although it has not yet been decided whether that is a safe thing to do or not.
