Bloating, Constipation and Abdominal Pressure

Question

I'm a 48-year-old white female, and I've never been pregnant. My symptoms are as follows: abdominal pressure, bloating to the point where I look six months pregnant - clinical distension of the abdomen, I'm sure. I urinate frequently - three times, even at night (also I drink a quart of water a day) am constipated (also a side effect of taking Effexor) and have seemingly endless gas. I have been told I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I suffer from unusual fatigue and backaches, for no discernable reason, weight gain, shortness of breath (getting dressed in the morning leaves me panting). I have had five fibroids, identified by ultrasound and had a myomectomy in four and a UAE in one.

What is your diagnosis of my condition?

Advice 1

It's hard to say with any degree of certainty without further testing. Diagnostic possibilities include more fibroids, an ovarian mass/malignancy, other types of abdominal tumor/malignancy, urinary retention with overflow and diabetes. You need a work-up. Contact your physician(s) immediately.

Advice 2

Unfortunately, I do not think it is possible to make a diagnosis or even an educated guess without examining you and probably doing additional tests (such as ultrasound). There are very serious conditions, even life-threatening ones, which can cause these symptoms, as well as benign conditions. I strongly urge you to be seen by a gynecologist as soon as possible to begin the process of proper diagnosis of your problem. I hope that you will receive a diagnosis that can be promptly remedied.

Advice 3

I would recommend that you consult your physician for a physical exam. It could be growth in an old or new fibroid, an ovarian cyst or a bowel problem. Do you have any other health problems such as a heart condition or diabetes?
